The 2025 Wilddeer Open

The 2025 Wilddeer Open was a PDGA-sanctioned professional disc golf tournament that successfully met and exceeded its fundraising goal, generating over $3,000 in support of Mott Children's Hospital. Our team secured event sponsors, developed a full event budget, and promoted the tournament through coordinated social media marketing and a press release partnership with 95.3 CFX, helping expand community awareness and drive participation. Hosted at Deerfield Park, the event featured a custom-designed logo, banners, and on-site signage, giving it a professional look and feel consistent with PDGA standards. For our class, this project provided valuable hands-on experience in sport event planning, sponsorship outreach, budgeting, and brand development, while reinforcing key skills in teamwork, communication, and project management. This experience allowed us to directly apply classroom concepts to a real charitable sporting event, strengthening our professional readiness and providing measurable achievements for our portfolios and resumes
