Parker Lanczak

Parker Lanczak, originally from Canton, Michigan, graduated from Central Michigan University in Spring 2023 with a degree in Sport Management and a minor in Marketing. During his time at CMU, he was an active member of the Sport Management Association (SMA), where he began building the foundation for a future in professional sports.

Shortly after graduation, Parker landed his first role in the industry with the Milwaukee Bucks as an Inside Sales Representative in ticketing. That opportunity came as a direct result of attending the TeamWork Online sports sales conference in Cleveland; a trip made possible through the support of CMU's Professor Adler. While in attendance, Parker interviewed with the Milwaukee Bucks sales team, and his professional journey took off. After a successful season in Milwaukee, Parker transitioned to a new opportunity as an Account Executive with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL), where he continues to grow his career in ticketing and sales.

Parker emphasizes the importance of hard work and persistence in the sports industry. "It's a long and tough process once you join a team, but working in sports can be the most fun you'll ever have," he says. "Put in the work — that's the key. It opens doors and sets you up for long-term success." He also highlights the value of leaning on your support system. "Things can get stressful, and it's easy to feel lost at times — especially in a new role. Having people around you and giving yourself the time and space to regroup is essential." Reflecting on his time at CMU, Parker is grateful for how real his professors were about the realities of working in sports. "They didn't sugarcoat it — they prepared me mentally and professionally for what was ahead and gave me the tools I needed to succeed outside of Mt. Pleasant." His advice to current students? "Embrace the grind".
